Can I ask your advice since your the queen of beautiful floors and a friend of the furry kind. I have engineered hardwood floors througout the house that have not worn well due to my 80-pound dog. I've heard engineered floors have come a long way however in the last 2-years. What do you suggest for those that want hardwood but have dogs and kids? Get solid hardwood and sand and stain when they show wear? Or do you favor engineered or laminate for active families? How do you keep your floors so darn nice with two dogs? Love, love your blog!
HI Vanessa! thank you so much, that is sweet of you. funny though i have only worked with real hardwood floors in my lifetime! i find that a lot of the older houses that i work on have the original floors. Even if we sand and stain (which i have done to my own floors) over and over they still hold up and look beautiful. i know it is hard with dogs, but any kind of real wood will eventually show signs scratches from their nails. i would do real wood if it was up to me! i hope this helps!best, Tia
