My daughter took this of me the other day, I find
painting such a great way to calm the soul. It transports
my mind to another place...a really good place :)
This is a HUGE piece I just finished for a client, I will show you
the final product soon!
have a wonderful day!!

I have not been in the mood to blog lately.
I think I have just been overwhelmed with
watching such tragedy. Then I always question
myself after I post pictures of pretty rooms and
think how superficial that looks when
people are dealing with such horrid conditions.
So I need a little time to re-group.
Though I really enjoy reading other peoples blogs
because it does take my mind off of things for a
bit. So I guess I will start blogging again just as soon
as I am inspired...which leads me to....
My husband and I, and our nine year old, went and saw
the documentary "I Am" last night
and WOW. Everyone in the world should see this.
They should show it in schools to kids (probably jr high and up,
our daughter was a little too young to understand all of it)
and every adult should go see this movie. It was SO
inspiring and interesting. The trailer doesn't do it justice,
but trust me and go see this film. Actually I don't know
if it is playing in other parts of the country besides L.A. and
New York right now but I am sure it will hit other cities soon.
I know most of the wonderful bloggers out there are
giving links on ways to help Japan but here is one
I found on Elle Decor that gives you a variety of
options... Give if you can,

we still have a little bit left of her room to finish,
though she is one happy 9 year old.
I really loved doing this with her because
she really was hands on in this process.
I'm usually manipulative in the way I
try to convince her to like my ideas but I
really let her run with this one and I got to
say, she might be a better designer than me.
she picked the fabric herself, we moved
the zebra rug from the dining room
into her room and she picked all the paint
colors. Once I am finished I will take a picture
of the other side of her room.

My baby is turning 9 this weekend and guess
what she wanted for her bday? yes, a new
"big girl room." Apparently the purple
was too babyish and her room wasn't as cool
as her older sisters. Well, excuse me, does she
know that she is only turning 9 and not 15? She has
been asking me to change up her room for a while now
so the timing is perfect. Both my daughters used to share
her room so I had two twin beds in there, but now she
will be getting a bigger bed. She has been right there from
the start with picking out her fabric for her bed, her wall color
which after many attempts by me to do a color, has ended up going
with white (like her sisters.) The ceiling is going to be the china blue
color that you see in the top photo. I will post some pics when
it is done. I am sure you all are sick of seeing the many different
transformations of my home through the years, but with a growing family,
and 11 years under my belt, this house has been through all the growing
pains/joys of my family, not to mention this is what I do for a living ;)
