We finally made it to the Tim Burton exhibit
at LACMA. I thought it was one of the best
exhibits I have ever seen, and my girls loved it.
It was so colorful and creative. His characters
are so fascinating. His drawings are incredible
along with the stories of the characters that he
creates. Go see this if you can, you will not
be disappointed!!
We actually went with friends of ours who
have boys the same age as my girls and
enjoyed a late friday evening at the museum.
Friday nights at LACMA are filled with picnics,
music, wine and food. What can be better than
that? we will definitly do it again.

below was my favorite drawing.
the name of it is mothera and she is
a beastly mother who obviously is a multi-tasking
freak of nature. I just loved how she holds
all her babies with her long tenticles and
her rollers in her hair.

her spikes are made out of forks and spoons....brilliant.

I want mothera in my kitchen.

i loved how they framed Mr. Burtons composition
books. what a creative way to frame art.
I think I might try this at home....

I was listening to an interview with Tim Burton
and he said that when he saw this exhibit after
it was completed he felt like all of his dirty laundry
was exposed to the public. I think that is what
made this so special, you really felt how personal
the drawings were to him.

I loved all of his works against the black walls,
i think this was when the kind women at the
exhibit told me that picture taking was prohibited.
sorry....
Hi Tia, I'm taking my kids this afternoon to the exhibit and I can't wait! I love stopping by your blog time to time especially when you post pics of the girls. :-)
