Schools almost out, the start of pool days and lazy afternoons
are upon us. I LOVE this time of year. I must say, I am not a
Winter person. I love the heat, I love the sound of the kids playing
outside and swimming. I love the warm evenings, and most of
all I LOVE having the girls around more. Even though they do
go to camp, there is just the feeling of less is more. Our school
schedules are insane, with both girls playing sports year round,
music lessons, homework, and all the other extras, it is hard
sometimes to stop and catch up. And to me,that is what summer
is about, a time to catch up. I cant wait.

I usually LOVE spending time with my 8 year old Daughter too...but, in the past month she has all of a sudden turned so sassy - what happened to my sweet little girl!!! I hear this is normal, I still don't like it though and I'm getting worried about the summer and usually I can't wait to have all that bonding time with her:-) Does 8 mark the end of the sweetness these days? I thought I had until they turn teenagers!! Enjoy your girls and hopefully they haven't turned on you!
ReplyDeleteOHHH sam, i feel for you. yes, they begin to get sassy at 8, some earlier, some later, some never at all (though how could that be possible!)
ReplyDeleteAll I can tell you is hang in there. My daughters will test their sassiness with me, I try to not let them get away with it. I think they turn sassy when that yummy baby smell starts to go away, around 8 or 9. Don't you remember when the top of their heads always smelled good? that sweet baby smell! Then all of a sudden its gone!
good luck, (i need it too)xxoo
