This is our dog Cassius. Yes, named after the greatest...
Cassius Clay. We rescued him Valentines Day this year
after we had to put two of our old dogs to sleep.
He is the sweetest little lover but so destructive, but he is only
one years old.
My back yard is trashed. He has dug up holes everywhere,
chewed every piece of outdoor furniture, chewed every sunbrella pillow, and
even the corners of my beautiful wood teak tables. Along the pool,
we had this beautiful hedge and he chewed it down so now there is just stubs.
There is no grass left in my back yard, just dirt.
I know it is because he is bored. I just can't walk him EVERY DAY! We have another
dog and they play together all day, wrestle, and run free, and the girls love them and
play with them a lot so I know he is getting some entertainment.
Last week, while we were at Disneyland for the day, Cassius figured out how to
jump up on my husbands office door, push down the lever and let himself in.
Well....when we got home, all my husbands work papers were chewed in a million
pieces and scattered all over the back yard.
My husband had a tantrum, yes, like the ones 4 year olds have.
If you can imagine the curse words that came out of him, i heard phrases
i didn't know were even possible.
So, we have a dog trainer coming today...and tomorrow.
And we might have to make a extra room for this trainer to
come live with us.

I know I haven't been blogging lately...sorry to be MIA.
I have been just enjoying family time with my girls, lots of
movies and even a trip to Disneyland on Christmas eve.
My best friend is in from Cleveland so we have been all hanging.
We have had so many great meals with family and friends, it really
has been nice. We had so much rain in the past two weeks so while
we have been staying home the girls
learned how to play Gin Rummy so we have been having card tournaments
every day. Its all been so so good.

Red is on the design front for 2011...for some designers it
has never left (Miles Redd) but I think it is a color we
will see a lot of next year!
(not sure where I found this photo, love to
give a credit source)
Have a lovely weekend!

I love this home because it reminds me a lot of my own
house (similar neighborhood and built around the same time)
It is the L.A. home of Kathleen and Maurizio Almanza and their daughter
Zoe. They are the brilliant owners of Eccola, a store (now on Beverly Blvd)
of gorgeous Italian mid century furniture and architectural elements.
My favorite part of this house is the color of the exterior...
just a note: the exterior blue/gray color of the home is called Raccoon Fur and
it is by Benjamin Moore.
Lovely, lovely home!!
